Orthodox Engineerium
Supporting modern tools and services that carry Orthodox tradition into contemporary life.

Our Mission
The Orthodox Engineerium Foundation supports initiatives dedicated to the stewardship and transmission of the Church's faith, culture, and heritage—so they remain living, accessible, and shared amid the conditions of the present age.Through practical support for work that unites art, knowledge, craftsmanship, and technology, the Foundation seeks to sustain and strengthen the vessels through which Holy Tradition is received, lived, and handed on.

In practice, this means exploring, building, and supporting tools, infrastructure, and initiatives that strengthen Orthodox Christians, parishes, ministries, and the Church for generations to come.
Invitation to Builders
The Orthodox Engineerium Foundation invites builders, scholars, technologists, artists, and program leaders whose work serves the life of the Orthodox community to partner with us. The Foundation supports aligned projects—whether early-stage or established—through funding, collaboration, and shared infrastructure.

The Foundation supports modern tools and services that serve the study, administration, worship, and daily life across parishes, clergy, scholars, and the wider Orthodox community. We are especially interested in work that fills real gaps—projects that respond to unmet needs or create tools and resources that do not yet exist. Our aim is to help good work endure, mature, and be widely received.
How We Support
Orthodox Engineerium exists to strengthen good work already happening across the Orthodox Church. While we develop some initiatives internally, we also seek to support aligned efforts led by parishes, ministries, nonprofits, clergy, and independent builders.
Support may include:Funding – Micro-grants and targeted financial support for promising initiatives.Technical Expertise – Guidance on technology, software, AI, websites, and digital infrastructure.Product Development – Design, engineering, and strategic support to help ideas become sustainable tools.Partnerships – Connecting projects with collaborators, advisors, and organizations across the Orthodox community.Shared Infrastructure – Providing operational, technical, or administrative resources that help projects grow without duplicating effort.

We believe the Church is best served when builders collaborate rather than compete. Whenever possible, we seek to strengthen existing work, build where genuine needs remain, and help good ideas mature into lasting resources for the Church.
Build with Us
If you are creating something in service of Orthodox tradition and need support to carry it forward, we welcome conversation. To keep things simple, we begin with a brief email inquiry.
Send an email including:
- Description of what you’re building
- Who it serves and the gap it fills
- Kind of support you’re requesting
- Any relevant links or materials
We’ll follow up if the work appears aligned.

Our Work
Orthodox Engineerium supports initiatives that strengthen the life of the Orthodox Church through thoughtful stewardship, practical service, and modern tools. Some initiatives are active programs. Others are early explorations being developed in conversation with clergy, ministries, and the broader Orthodox community.
Orthodox Icon Exchange
Stewarding donated icons and placing them into new homes.Orthodox Icon Exchange helps Orthodox Christians donate, discover, and receive icons through a dedicated charitable marketplace.Rather than allowing icons to be discarded, forgotten, or sold without context, Icon Exchange provides a place where they can continue serving the life of the Church by finding new homes with clergy, parishes, families, and individuals.Status: Active Program
Orthodox Commons
Exploring Shared Digital Infrastructure for Orthodox Parish LifeOrthodox Commons is an ongoing exploration into what a unified digital platform for Orthodox parish life could become.Today, many parishes rely on a patchwork of disconnected systems for communication, stewardship, accounting, member records, events, volunteer coordination, education, and community life. Orthodox Commons asks whether these needs could be thoughtfully brought together into a shared platform designed specifically for the Orthodox Church. The vision is not to replace parish life, but to strengthen it—reducing administrative burden, encouraging participation, and helping clergy, parish leaders, and parishioners spend more time serving one another. We are currently speaking with clergy, parish administrators, developers, and existing Orthodox ministries to better understand the needs of the Church, learn from work already underway, and explore opportunities for collaboration before pursuing development.Status: Research & Community Discussion
More to Come
Orthodox Engineerium exists to support the long-term needs of the Church. As new opportunities emerge, we hope to support additional initiatives involving education, preservation, parish life, technology, and shared infrastructure that strengthen Orthodox communities for generations to come.If you're building something that serves the Church—or have identified a need worth exploring—we'd love to hear from you.

Orthodox Commons
Exploring Shared Digital Infrastructure for Orthodox Parish LifeOrthodox Commons is an exploration into what a unified digital foundation for Orthodox parish life could become. This is not a product announcement. It is an ongoing effort to understand the needs of parishes, clergy, ministries, and Orthodox organizations—and to explore whether shared infrastructure could better serve the life of the Church. The concepts below are intended to begin conversations rather than present finished answers.
The Opportunity
Orthodox parishes often rely on a collection of disconnected tools for communication, stewardship, events, accounting, websites, member records, volunteer coordination, and education. Each tool solves part of the problem.Orthodox Commons asks a different question:
What if these needs could be thoughtfully brought together into one shared environment designed specifically for Orthodox parish life?
The Vision

Guiding Principles
1. Strengthen parish life—not replace it.
Technology should reduce administrative burden and encourage real participation in parish life, not increase time spent behind a screen.
2. Build with the Church—not for the Church.
The best ideas will come through collaboration with clergy, parish leaders, existing ministries, and Orthodox developers.
3. Partner before replacing.
Where good work already exists, we would rather collaborate, integrate, or support than duplicate effort.
4. Shared infrastructure. Local identity.
Every parish is unique. Orthodox Commons should provide shared tools while allowing each parish, diocese, and jurisdiction to retain its own identity and practices.
Current Status
Orthodox Commons is currently in the research phase. We're speaking with clergy, parish administrators, Orthodox software developers, ministries, and existing platform builders to better understand the needs of the Church before pursuing development. No decisions have been made regarding implementation, technology, governance, or organizational partnerships.
Your Perspective
If you're clergy, a parish administrator, software developer, designer, ministry leader, or simply someone who cares about the future of Orthodox parish life, we'd welcome your thoughts. The goal is not simply to build software. The goal is to strengthen the life of the Church.
